The tradition of wine-making has been practised at the Residenz Bechtel Winery since 1752 and in the sixties the property comprising 25 hectares entered a new era when the then young winegrower's son Manfred and his wife Margit joined the business. While prior to this, cattle breeding and agriculture were still practised, Manfred moved the focus entirely to developing the winegrowing and bottle sales end of the business.

The company has always been governed by a clear, determined customer focus in its sales to increase its private clientele and the top priority of the Bechtel family is the personal contact they enjoy with their customers. Here at the winery the customer is still king and that is the way it is going to stay.

It is with great pride that the family looks back on the year 1992/1993, when their daughter Astrid was crowned German Wine Queen.
